Both made some great points. Dr. Gupta did effectively critique Sicko with some technicalities and fine points. But I think Mr. Moore was misunderstood. Most of what he says about America's health care system is totally true. Why do literally dozens of other countries have better health care systems for their citizens then the richest nation on the planet?

Who has better health care? What is so horrible about a patient having to pay something to receive care? Its about lifestyle choices. A person can choose to spend money on bigger houses, cars, cigarettes, booze, health care, etc. There are consequences for the choices you make. For those who are truly unable to afford it, there are programs in place to help. Secondly, no one is going to the ER with a medical emergency and getting turned away.

Of course Gupta is against national health care. As a doctor he would be limited in how much he could make, no more free vacations from the pharmaceutical companies. National health care works. Look at Canada (I have many friends in Canada, there are no long waits for care), look at Great Britian (they have had a national health care system since 1948), and France. I watched Sicko and was embarrassed that the richest nation in the world, some say the greatest nation ever, places money over the well being of it's own people. Michael Moore is right and I'm glad to see someone giving more than just lip service to the health care problems in this country. Changes have to be made.

It wasn't much of a debate but Sanjay Gupta failed to prove that Michael Moore fudged anything.

Americans do not want socialism. Nor do they want high taxes or long waits for medical treatment. Not that what Michael Moore said in the movie wasn't true, but I would do some independent research rather than taking his word for it.

I will not act as if I know everything in this matter because I do not. But in my understanding free half care equals to high taxes (40 percent) and long waits for treatments something Mr. Moore does not address in his film.

i did not understand that, besides the indisputable fact that it would not take plenty to instruct how a lot of a liar and hypocrite Michael Moore is. i don't watch Larry King besides, so it would not count number to me. i admire Ron Paul, yet like I mentioned, a small infant ought to reveal Moore for the liar he's. i needed to respond to "malcolm" who says capitalism failed. For one concern, not all financial systems are capitalist. if actuality be told, maximum are actually not. An financial equipment isn't meant to assist the plenty. offering wellbeing care, housing, jobs etc is a factor of a socialist equipment. Capitalism is a vehicle that provides all and sundry an equivalent possibility at fulfillment and subsequently the flexibility to get all of those issues for themselves, so as that they don't might desire to be counted on the government. you are able to take 2 international locations equivalent in all procedures and supply one unfastened industry capitalism mutually as giving the different over to socialism or fascism or communism or another left wing financial equipment. the consequence would be that persons stay longer are greater rich to boot as greater beneficiant in a unfastened industry society. The socialist/fascist/communist/liberal societies die out and starve to loss of life. this happens each and every time it is tried. that's a real occasion of the version between Finland and Estonia in 1939. i for my section wish that Malcolm will study historic previous and learn. it is unhappy to be so ignorant those days whilst there is plenty counsel available. final analysis: capitalism is the only maximum effective financial equipment ever wide-unfold. The a procedures left financial systems have failed each and every time they have been tried. the only time capitalism has issues is whilst that's ruined by utilising government intervention. it quite is one in all our issues at present. yet regardless of that, even whilst over-regulation tries to break capitalism, it nevertheless supplies greater possibility than the different financial equipment.
