i think it's called scrying. How u stare at something
4 so long, it becomes blurry. I do it all the time.
The first time i discovered this was when i was staring
in my room at a balloon and a picture. Then it soon
started to blur out and produce funny images.
So i started to do it on my hand. Then i did
it in the mirror, staring at myself, with half light and
dakness in the room. And guess what? i started
to disappear. Seriously, i was amazed. It works!!

Yeah, vision is a complex mechanism.
The visual system allows us to assimilate information from the environment to help guide our actions. The act of seeing starts when the lens of the eye focus an image of the outside world onto a light-sensitive membrane in the back of the eye, called the retina. The retina is actually part of the brain that is isolated to serve as a transducer for the conversion of patterns of light into neuronal signals. The lens of the eye focuses light on the photoreceptive cells of the retina, which detect the photons of light and respond by producing neural impulses. These signals are processed in a hierarchical fashion by different parts of the brain, such as the lateral geniculate nucleus, and the primary and secondary visual cortex of the brain.

The visual cortex is removing all the thing from your vison that your do not need to see. This is part of the way that our brains process infromation, since there is to much to process at any one time our brains need to figure out exactly what is needed for that point in time.

When you focus on one point your sub-concius decides that since there in no important activity in your peripheral vison you do not need to process that information and 'deletes it'. Try doing this near a busy main road or in an area with lots of activity, you will find that it does not happen as often due to the fact that the brian decides that this stuff occuring around you is important and includes it for your concious to process.

Hope this helps.

On the other hand , bypassing the probable scientific cause , I had similar experience staring at my face and a illumination as you describe occurred , then I tried the same experiment on an object with negative results the object and it's surrounding staid in focus the entire ten minutes or so of staring at it , but not with my own face , I would conclude I have been fortunate to see the image of my own soul , and the face is some what different as my own .

Yes.

One particular thing that messes with my eyes is when I stare at the light on the ceiling. Our ceilings have that sponge paint pointy stuff. It looks like it's spiraling towards me when I stare at the light.

YES I have
it's because your eyes are focused on the same point for so long that your brain doesnt need to comprehend what is around.
