Because they want to include the Canadians since they have one team in the league. 30 teams and one is in Canada. I find it funny but anyways they do it. Frankly no anthem should be played. Too much time wasting with that stuff. Just play the damn game.

You must've been watching it IN Canada, because they didn't show it here. Fox NEVER shows the Canadian anthem because they're a bunch of right-wing fanatics and Canada chose not to suppose Bush's war in Iraq. Even the archconservative new Prime Minister Stephen Harper doesn't dare send Canadian troops to Iraq. And since Fox and its czar Rupert Murdoch are pro-Bush all the time, Canada gets no credit.

The 2005 ASG in Detroit was right after the London terrorist attacks, and they played "God Save the Queen," and Fox showed it. But when "O, Canada" -- keeping in mind that Detroit is right on the border -- was played, Fox went to commercial, before coming back in time to show "The Banner."

Because you have the TORONTO blue jays and players that were born in canada. Such as Jason Bay, Erik Bedard, Rheal Cormier, Jeff Francis, Chris Reitsma, Justin Morneau, and Matt Stairs.
