Do you think humans are superior to animals, material things, weather or do you think we are a part of the universe and it's patterns?

I wouldn't say we're "superior" in such ways. Mother nature can still kill and so can many animals and material things. Humans are constantly humbled by how precarious life is.

We are, however, the only sentient beings on this planet. We have free will, an incredible ability to adapt, and the ability to better our species with every generation.

"What a piece of work is a man, how noble in reason, how infinite in faculties, in form and moving, how express and admirable in action, how like an angel in apprehension, how like a god! the beauty of the world! the paragon of animals!"
- Shakespeare's Hamlet

well,it seems the concensus is that humans are superior.
But our control is still "way off"; so much so that i think
its reasonable to say that some animals eclipse us here
(some insects for example). And people are mistaken if
they interpret this as needing more"regimen".
And i also think that its good that you put the Weather in there; for we may be (so called)United into political parties
but not so united that we can control the weather. We cannot
even agree whether this would be a good thing or not(poss
as a direct result of our divisive politics).
I dont think we are part of the so-called patterns of the universe.
For i,along with some others, was taught that our universe
or cosmos has only 2 known qualities-so far(they are that
it is virtually Empty and secondly that it is hostile-to-life)
These qualities "show off" man's history and his future;
that man wants-to-live; And live an exceptional, different life,
exploring and controlling (himself usually via his groups).
And the latest thing is a critical life, too.(think of the criticism
any government gets,after time).
At the moment what colors our outlook on the cosmos is
an encompassing theory called darwinism(that we should
select "the best" and this comes from some sort of competition). But we know this will change, hopefully with a
better theory which should adapt-us more into this universe.
As you ask and say, ...."part of the Universe's( ) patterns.
