Like Paris going to jail people were going crazy.All the news channels were covering the story and ignoring real news worthy situations.

I'm not so frustrated as bewildered. Perhaps people direct their interest's and energies in the direction of those who are wealthy and have celebrity status, as a way of vicariously elevating their own status. They attain , because of their extensive knowledge of some stars life and habits, an imagined degree of celebrity for themselves.

I agree with you. There are many serious issues in this world that deserve attention, but all the media hype about celebrities causes people to focus on the wrong things.

Yes! it is crazy and I feel the same way. There is a lot of other things people should be thinking about, but the celebrities get the spotlight. Who cares what they're doing, they are all human like we are.

I agree. Maybe with so many unfulfilled lives out there, they must live through the TV.

Celebs are owned by Corporations that promote the media hype.

I agree with you, sister! It's all hype and hoopla! It will eventually pass, just like all the craziness about Michael Jackson. Haven't heard much on that lately!

You're right, it's totally asinine. I find a good way to ignore it is to confine your news sources to the papers or online, that way you can ignore what doesn't interest you.

...In a world of confusion and daily chaos, Paris is like a bucket of Ben & Jerrys Ice-Cream... it 's eye candy, ear candy and mind candy... when you've had your fill you'll go back to the confusion and choas and return again for more "candy"...
