Here is a quote that would possibly help if i even understood it a little:
"You cannot just go get any old speed ram, it has to match the bus speed of the main board. Find out the speed of the ram stick that works, and if that is the same as the speed of the one that doesn't [3200], then the one that doesn't is defective or the dimm slot is."-- wouldent the RAM speed be basically.. the RAM?

Mainly i want to know how to find what RAM is compatible to my 'bus' (which what i read is the exact same thing as RAM..._ any ideas?

In addition to this question: Should i get a new graphics card? right now i got an integrated card but i want to play GOOD games(Starcraft 2, Overlord, Halo1-2, and such) . but then again i want directX10, so should i wait for 2 years till the cards arnt 500+$? right now 200$ is almost over what i could possibly afford. whats your opinion?

Okay let me try to clear some stuff up here. First off, that quote is either 5+ years old, or it was made by somehow who doesn't know what they are talking about. That was true back in the days of SDRAM, but now it is easily possible to run RAM that is asynchronous (different speed than) to the front side bus. As for what speed you need, go to your manufacturers website, they will tell you. Or go to crucial.com, but don't buy from them, too expensive.

As for video card, the GeForce 8400GS is a DirectX 10 card, and you can get it for $50. Now its a piece of junk card, but thats just to show that DirectX 10 cards come in all price ranges now. For about $200 or a little less, look at the 8600GTS, just make sure you have PCI Express.

Take out one of your ram chips. Take it to a computer store. Ask them which ram to buy so it's compatible.
