The point of life is to live for the purpose for which we were created.

If we believe we were not created, we must logically conclude that life has no purpose, no meaning and no point.

“Unless you assume a God, the question of life’s purpose is meaningless.” –Bertrand Russell (noted 20th century philosopher, mathematician and atheist).

However, our human nature will not bear not having purpose or meaning. We may say life has no meaning but we cannot live that way. Take answerer 7 for example. In the first sentence:

"Ultimately, there is no point to life. There is no preordained purpose. We don't exist for a reason. We just exist."

But in the last sentence she makes up a purpose for herself because she can't bear not having a purpose:

"Love, and be loved. Leave the world a better place than you found it."

If there is no purpose, then all of our invented reasons for being alive are designed to make us feel better but are not real. Effectively she says to spend your life searching for meaningless good feelings.

There seems to be three choices:
1) Seek God (even not knowing that God exists) and real meaning and purpose
2) Truly accept that there is no meaning or purpose and go insane or indulge in
3) Self deception, i.e. endlessly seek FEELINGS of meaning and purpose as if feelings are a reality.

Ultimately, there is no point to life. There is no preordained purpose. We don't exist for a reason. We just exist.

However, going down a few steps on the scale, as in, the meaning of life while you're alive, I take a hedonistic approach.

Make the most of it. Enjoy every second of it because once a second passes, you don't get it back.

Love, and be loved. Leave the world a better place than you found it.

Do unto others as ye would have them do unto you. AKA The Golden Rule. The point of LIFE is joy! When we extend to ALL others that best WE can be in that moment...it returns to us! We didn't come here to be judgmental control freaks...we came to have LIFE and to see others as ourselves. Have a 'specially wonderful evening! Hugs, Gina C.

To live as many days as you want to without getting eaten by the other creatures in the "jungle". And to try to live a peaceful, joyful, truthful life.

We are all just here. The point for your life is for you to find.
My point is simply to procreate, evolve, struggle, maintain, die.
