Yes you can be proud - I am Norwegian, I have Norwegian pride. Others are Irish - they have Irish pride. Some Italians have Italian pride. Ever heard of Serbian pride? People celebrate their particular ethnic and cultural backgrounds. I am also American - and proud to be an American. I am also grew up in a small town in Iowa - and am proud to be a small town Iowan. Go Hawkeyes!!! I am a Packer fan and proud to be one.
Most blacks in this country share a common cultural and ethnic background and identity rooted in African traditions and colored by the American experience. Although Africans in Africa might have Kenyan pride, or Ghanaian pride, or Senagalese pride, the descendants of black Africans generally lost touch with what country their ancestors came from - but share a rich American cultural experience. They can be proud of that if they want. And, since it's an American experience - all Americans can share some pride in that too.
In any case, these kinds of ethnic or heritage-related prides really are just fun ways of being nostalgic with family and friends who share the common background - they can also be a fun way to share those elements of your heritage that you enjoy with others.
Real personal pride comes from personal accomplishments -something that skin color or great-grandparents' countries of origin has no bearing on.
So be proud - be proud of your heritage - but don't disparage others who do not share that background - and don't think that having a particular skin tone means anything more than the amount of light you reflect or absorb on the surface. If you are just a dope - having a particular skin tone won't change that. If you are talented, accomplished and a great all-around person, that should speak for itself.
Also, most people who go around saying "I am PROUD to be WHITE" are racists.

Because people are screwed up. Most ethnic groups brag about their race, but if a white person does it, Well, you already know the answer to that one. I usually don't pay any attention to those people anymore anyway. I once had a black person ask me if I knew anything about black history, Well, of course I don't, why should I, it's not my heritage. What does that same person know about Irish history, or Native Indian history. Not a d*mn thing. See what I mean?

White pride is fine. It's white pride at the expense of others that isn't.
But personally I don't think any race should be proud to be that race above others. You can't change it, and surely if everyone is the same then what is to celebrate? We're all human.

I think its ok to be proud that you are white without being racist. Unfortunatly, most ppl look at that as being racist. I think its great that you are proud of your heritage (i think thats the word im lookin for) becuase there are so many ppl that bash their own color and stuff, and wish they could be someone else. I think its perfectly ok, the way that you are feeling!

White is a color, any there are many light skinned people of many races. So white pride would sound racist, because its pride of your skin color, not your race. Something like irish pride, polish pride, german pride... blah

I don't know, it's another double standard that other ethnicities can have pride. I personally don't really care who is white, but just say you have Irish pride unless you want to get jumped.

Sure, it's okay to be proud of your race, just not to point of believing other races are inferior.
