ok im gonna play football in 8th grade and i wanna know what position i should play
i run a 4.7 40 yard
im 6"0 [close to 6"1]
145 pounds
able to jump up to 10 feet
i can bench 145,and squat 225
very long arms
can catch pretty good if im going over the middle but i cant catch the ball over my shoulder or anything like that
i can run a mile in 5 minutes and 30 seconds so i can run really well for a long time
i really want LB but should i play it?

You could play LB, but i would try safety. That is what you will play in high school. you will get a lot of pics. FS is perfect seriosly every thing you said is perfect for FS.

Wow, a coaches dream. I think you would make a wide receiver and you should work on your over the shoulder catches. If you are in a position to play D, look at D-end, especially in a 6-2 or a five front defense where your height would allow you to see over the line. Since you are in the eighth grade, you have the body frame to build upon. Good Luck

I think you should play wide reciever because of your speed and height, plus you can jump. But if you want to play defense, and lb is what you want to play, then play it. Don't let nobody tell you - you can't. Have you ever thought about playing basketball. Cause I'm 6'2, and if your 6'1 and in the 8th grade, you'll probally gonna get taller. You might be like 6'5 or 6'6 when you get out highschool ?

youll be great at wide receiver and safety. linebacker u need to be a lil bigger brcause 6ft 145lbs is a bit skinny for lb but then ur in jr high so it wont matter really. ask coach but i think ull do good at wr and safety or even qb for your height at 8th grade.

I don'tknow much about football but you sound like either a quarterback or a safety. Safety cause you run fast, quarterback cause you have long arms. Good luck with football, I hope I was of help!!

LB?...I don't think you are big enough to play LB...You're probably not quick enough for RB...You have a WR build...but if you can't catch over the shoulder (in stride), you need to learn how to do that or you would probably waste your time trying out for it...You are built for WR, though...Maybe TE...
