My female guppy is pregnant. She has a very large belly and a black gravid spot. When is she going to have babies? Please note this comment: She IS carrying on with regualer behaviour, such as eating, being active and not hiding. The only thing I noticed was that she is now swimming a little crooked due to weight issues. (I think) Someone who is EXPERIENCED please answer! When will she have her fry?

Alright, you can't really tell when she is going to drop her fry, but the gestation period for livebearers is 28 days
And after she had her first batch she can have up to 5 more if there is no male around, since livebearers can store the sperm for up to 6 months
Just before birth they kind of look sqare around their belly

Hope that helps
Good luck

You know, all of the people that answered this question the first time worded "When is she going to have her babies?" ARE experienced and anyone else who is, which includes me (I have guppies and have successfully bred them) would tell you the same thing: ANYTIME NOW!!! There is no way to tell you an exact hour/minute/second of when this will take place! She is obviously ready to pop so why don't you have a little patience and wait until it happens instead of coming in here and being rude!

Well, since everything else is normal, we can count out air bladder trouble.

If she is anything like mine, I would guess any day now! How long have you felt she was pregnant?

Hope you have a tank all prepared for her and the crew!
