It depends on a lot of things, for example, how formal or how big your party is. Depending on what your garage looks like inside, it might work. My friend did it once. His garage was not cluttered at all. He put his car out in the driveway, put a rug on the floor and brought in some chairs and folding tables to put the snacks on.
