A true and deep commitment to each other. You both need to be on the same level of faith --pray and worship together. Having God in your relationship is a must. You should love that person for who they are -- no changes necessary. You need to have total trust and honesty in your relationship.
You both also need to keep your passion alive and have FUN with each other--do fun things, make each other laugh and just enjoy being with each other.

A lot of things help make love last but the most important is having Christ be a part of that love.

Romance. A wise man told me and my husband just before we got married "To never let the romance die out, is a sure guarantee our love will last for ever". So far we have proved him right. Been 15 years now and still going strong.

Intelligent conversation. To quote Wilson from Home Improvement, "for a woman, intellectual stimulation with a man can be the strongest bond of all. That deep connection allows her to think of him as her soulmate."

Loving someone enough to give them your best. Loving them enough to look at the good they have brought to your life any time you are angry with them. Realizing that loving someone forever isn't the same as falling in love.
I think Phil. 4:8 says it best:
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.

All the answers are good: but the first one should be that you ask God to be the center of your relationship and to bless it. Because when God is in the center of your relationship, you can be sure that what ever problem or situation comes around, there will always be a solution to it. Blessings
