Most people only star if they really like the question or thought is was a good question to ask but sometime the person that asks the question asks for a star.

When I think the question is good or interesting, but I don't know the answer to it or I don't feel like answering. It's great because it stays in my star list so I can go back to it and see the answers.

sometimes I star it to indicate understanding, support or encouragement
