You have to go with Steve Smith (although you can make a strong case for Holt or Harrison). I'd love to hear the rationale from those people who are saying Chad Johnson. Johnson is a fine WR, but he has never scored more than 10 TD in a season and he only did that once back in 2003. Over the past four seasons Johnson has been steady with 87-97 catches and 1274-1432 yards, but he has averaged under 9 TDs per season. All fantasy football players know TDs usually are the difference makers. Below are my top 10 WRs for 2007 with projections (taken from http://www.gooddudes.com/blog/?cat=5)

1. Steve Smith–95 catches, 1400 yards, 10 TDs
2. Marvin Harrison–90, 1250, 12
3. Torry Holt–95, 1300, 10
4. Larry Fitzgerald–90, 1300, 10
5. Terrell Owens–80, 1200, 12
6. Reggie Wayne–85, 1300, 10
7. Chad Johnson–90, 1300, 9
8. TJ Houshmandzadeh–85, 1200, 10
9. Marques Colston–80, 1200, 10
10. Javon Walker–75, 1200, 10

Its easy to come out and say steve smith or chad johnson but you really have to think about the teams around them. when thinking about fantasy receivers although the top two or three are usually on good or above average teams the rest of the top ten receivers are usually on losing teams because the teams are forced to throw more. now look at this past year, chad johnson struggled out of the gate and steve smith was hurt. both teams struggled and didnt make the playoffs, now looking ahead i would prefer to choose chad johnson simply because if you look at the panthers and the possibly quarterback controversy it doesnt bode well for the receivers involved. chad johnson will also be looked to more because chris henry is suspended for the first 8 games of the season. the greatest reason really to choose chad johnson is that you have no idead who will remain the qb in carolina will it be delhomme for all of the year or will carr take his place if he struggles.

Marvin Harrison for a number of reasons. 1.) He finished with the most WR fantasy points of any receiver last year with 208.6, and is consistant to be in the top 3 year in and year out. 2.) The only WR's that finished close to Harrison were T.O. with 196.0 points and Reggie Wayne with 185.0 points last season. Harrison has the best offense in the NFL and has Peyton Manning throwing to him. 3.) Harrison has 16, 100 plus yard games over the last three seasons compared to Chad Johnson, who had 14 and Steve Smith who had 13. 4.) Steve Smith is awesome, but doesnt have the offense that surrounds Harrison. He has no running game, or other passing threats to take the pressure off of him and will be guaranteed to be double teamed all season long. 5.) Chad Johnson is another star, but last season both Chris Henry and TJ Houshmandzadeh outscored Johnson, each with 9 TD's to his 7. Harrison is the man when it comes to scoring, yards and number of receptions, he is the complete package and shows it every year, he should be your first WR taken in the draft. Hope this helps, good luck this season.

ESPN the mag has a nice article on why you shouldn't worry about it. I'll dig it out closer to draft time, but basically it showed that the second tier of WRs are going to score within a point or two per game average of the first 12 picked.

Unless you can get Harrison its not gonna matter that much

Take a QB or another RB instead

Chad Johnson...I think he will have more productive year from a touchdown standpoint. That was his only knock last year. Or Holt, he is always productive.
