I have very similar problems since I moved to England about 7 years ago - this country is like "hayfever land"! So I really sympathise with your predicament. I've tried anti-histamine tablets like Benadryl, Clarityn, etc... Nothing worked. 2 years ago I found that nasal sprays work best. I use Beconase nasal spray, which you can get over the counter in most pharmacies. I even bought it in Wilkinson once - it was selling in front of the cashier's desk, I didn't even have to ask a chemist for one, and it was on sale. Beconase doesn't take away the problem completely (as sometimes the problem's still there throughout the day except it almost is never as bad as it used to be WITHOUT using the nasal spray)... But it definitely works and helps a lot, even if I have to use tissues during the day I'd only need a few (less than 5)... So I think your best bet is to try a nasal spray. If that doesn't work then you should see a doctor for advice.

For the short-term, try Claritin and Tylenol Sinus until you go to a doctor if you want to. In the meantime, find honey from a local. Take a teaspoon every day. Allergy shots use a slight bit of what you are allergic to. This remedy does the same thing in the natural form and is not as painful.

If you suffer from this often, it might be wise to see an allergist to see what you're allergic to. I had similar symptoms for years, with only short-term relief from medication. I was tested and then took a series of allergy shots for several years. Now, I hardly have any symptoms at all, and when I do, Claritan does the trick.

i suffer terribly with it! i find the best thing is daily anti-histamines, make sure you do take them daily though, they don't seem to be as effective otherwise! I also find nasal sprays to be very effective, they can be purchased over teh counter in pharmacies. you just squirt it up your nose twice a day and it seems to stop you from sneezing! amazing stuff i say! also if you suffer from itchy eyes which i do, try some eye drops they work wonders!
hope you feel better soon hun :) xx
