This is a statement George DeWitt made in regards to evacuating peolpe of Japanese from the Pacific Coast...
"The Japanese race is an enemy race and while many second and third generation Japanese born on United States soil, possessed of United States citizenship, have become 'Americanized,' the racial strains are undiluted. To conclude otherwise is to expect that children born of white parents on Japanese soil sever all racial affinity and become loyal Japanese subjects ready to fight and, if necessary, to die for Japan in a war against the nation of their parents."

SO, my question is what exactly was DeWitts argument for evacuating them...Also, do you agree with it?

A shameful chapter in our American History.

By the way, for all you libs who say Bush is the worst ever, exactly how many Muslim American citizens has Bush put in prison camps?

it wasn't just a simple evacution they were basically held in prison camps. Montana had one in which they were held by our federal government based solely on their race, and I disagree that is was a long time ago, and people felt differently. Sept 11th is an example, many Americans where crying for the removal of Muslims from the country, or commited violence against them in cities across this country, people were afraid to be in the same place as American Muslims were. They were and are Americans yet we would have done the same as to the Japanese Americans 65 years ago. It was and is in the minds the only solution to alleviate the fear they felt at the time, against a basically unknown plot against America.

His argument was that because they were racially Japanese they could not help but support Japan. Of course it's ridiculous, but it was used to intern about 30,000 people.

That was a long time ago and there is no use in beating a dead horse. People back then (60 years) thought differently.

Because the Japanese bombed Pearl harbor, he was worried about spies.

Or at least that why he said he did it.
