Why is it that the northeast is liberal and the south is conservative? Please give me serious answers.

It used to be the other way around. That changed after 1964. The Civil Rights act was massively unpopular in the South and they've mostly voted Republican since.
But, except for a small aristocracy, Southerners are populists. The stereotype is mostly the fault of the Black Power Establishment and Political Correctness Elitists. Together they've actively driven what used to be the Blue Collar middle class, now the working poor, out of the inner circles of the Democratic Party.
Without a viable third party, they went to the Republicans, even though they haven't been happy with the results.
A new generation of Democratic Strategists are trying to reverse those trends. I worked for a long time in Fundraising for Public Interest Groups. And I've been saying, since the 19 70's to anyone who would listen and a lot of folks who wouldn't that Rednecks don't have a problem with the Democrats' message, you just have to stop talking down to them and put it in their language.
Bill Clinton was proof of that. Let's hope the rest of the Party catches on.

It has more to do with the fact that the northeast has cities with millions in each that are primarily liberal, and the rural areas are usually conservative, whether your in the north or south. It is just that cities like NY have like 14 million, while cities like Atlanta have around 5 million.
You go to up state NY though, and most of it is conservative. In the South you have more people in total living in the suburbs and rural areas and most of that is conservative. Yet go to downtown Atlanta, and it is ALL liberal. That is also where you find most of the weirdo's. LOL!

It is all about culture. Burt Renolds once said that how stupid you are depends on where you are at the time.
This is true, If you are from the north, you have different ideas and a different upbringing than the south, you can find culture differences from one block to the next.
This intollerance is caused because they are different from each other and the cultures and not understood.
Social conformity also plays a roll in this. Marketers capitalize on this all the time with fashion trends.
One popular kid buys a brand of jeans in any school, and it spreads like wildfire, same with hairstyles, cars, toys.
Even young kids want to keep up with the jones.
There was a study by harvard about 40 years ago, and they took young kids that were afraid of dogs and placed them in a room full of kids that were not afraid of dogs and put a few friendly dogs in the room with them.
The kids that were not afraid of dogs played with the dogs right away, and soon the kids that were afraid of dogs got over their fear.
They wanted to be like the other kids so bad that they overcame their fear.
It is all about your enviorment.

For the same reason Irish are stereotyped as "drunken, fighting Irish" English as arrogant, French as unfriendly & in need of deodrant, shall I go on. Basicaly If you don't take the time to get to know some one then you are just going to believe the hype, & miss out on getting to know some unique individuals.

Because they ARE. The district I live in has the worst congressman ever elected - Adam Putnam. Fascist snake who has been sucking Bush's dick for the past 7 years. He is Bush's yes man. But sucking dick is something Adam Putnam likes to do, he got caught out at this place called Saddle Creek going down on some guy at the time when he was starting his political career, and some lawyer in town "took care" of it and covered it up, but the lawyer's wife has friends and they talk and the "secret" got out. Adam Putnam is fascist scum.

republicans are NOT stereotyped as hicks...............they are stereo typed as pandering to wealthy special interests, and stereo typed as being cowards during wartime...they almost NEVER serve on the front lines
