I do keep a journal, & have since I was about six years old. It's interesting that you asked this question, because today I had a very fulfilling session with a woman who is always busy, yet didn't know what to "do" with herself. I asked what she felt she "needed." She said to get inside & explore herself. This led to an incredible journey she'd never examined. From incest, dislike of men, her husband on the bottom of her priority list, the consequences of it, the priority of her grandchildren & so much, in less than 40 minutes. I asked if she ever thought of writing a journnal. (Commonly accepted as very good therapy.) Not the "good" things & the "bad" things, just a stream of consciousness that leads where it will. I've gained so many insights by doing this--what seems to be totally out of context will appear on the screen--& one may be amazed at what they find of themselves there. I have massive binders of journals. I have, at times, opened one randomly--perhaps written ten or more years ago--& found a precise connection with where I am now, & what I've learned. Always more to learn about oneself. Referring to the past isn't denying the present; it is bringing everything into harmony. Yes, DEEP thoughts & feelings. People often think of journals as diaries, I went to the store, I had lunch with--& so on. They aren't at all. Just one little bell can ring that can take you forever as you type, unselfconscious, truthful & flowing. I suspect this woman is writing even as I type. It may take awhile before realizing no one is looking over your shoulder, but I can't emphasize the value of doing so.

Yes I do.I call them Morning pages and write them from time to time.My poetry too is a kind of thinker's journal, that I keep revising.Lot of my poems were destroyed when I moved after marriage. My mother thought that they were just rough notes and burned them(a poet herself). But I can still recreate some of them.

I do Rena. It's called my Life Thoughts journal. And I write in it about my perspective on things such as 'Anger', Regret, Love, Problems, Hate...etc. And sometimes I write in it short inspirational stories that have a message and I also do some art in it as well.
Although not from ten years....from the beginning of this year because that was one I really discovered my true self.
How about you? What do you write about? :-)

Hi,

If I had to keep a journal of my thoughts it would be to big to keep anywhere besides it is very sad to think of someone sitting there reading about what they thought 10 years ago when they could be using there time thinking of something new.

Hi Rena,
I've kept a diary since I was twelve, Rena :) .... I don't write every day ...sometimes I'll write daily, sometimes not for months at a time) ... Its more of a random thoughts... and idea and rants book, than a : "this is what I did today" diary.. But, I like to write things down.....
>>>>>
I also have separate notebooks for story ideas, random quotes I overhear, weird news stories :)) , poems and things like that......You get the picture, don't you? :))
>>>>>>
It is nice to have, and when I am old........... You can look back, to all the memories you have.. treasured all this time.... :-)
>>>>>>
What you have learned, invent... Etc..... Nice thing to have, I am shore about that... :) :)
>>>>>>>
Thanks, for the question! :D

My regards!

Take care, Rena!

Totally. I find it very insightful to see what thoughts were just percolating in my mind from years past, that are now major influences on my thinking.
It's easier to see the evolution f my thoughts that way.

particular!!! It often facilitates me to concentration on what i'm asserting too. And, once you're writing it, it is basic, and you're pouring your heart out to God. it is not substantial if the words are spoken or written. God looks on the midsection. decide for IT!! XD

My mind is my journal.
No one is able to read it.

I am able to express it,and remember.
And my mind journal is full with memorizes, sadly i am unable to remove the sad memorizes if only we had a delete button in our mind.
