Not sure of year..maybe 1971 ..It's a Mercury Comet with I bleive a 150 str8 6 cyclinder engine...This car and the Ford Mavrick had the same body style. The Comet has more of a square tail light with a + inside, and the Mavrick had more of a long square type tail light. I don't know I may have a pix of mine somewhere.

Early 1970's Ford Maverick

MedoraKid is right. It's no Maverick, but the Mercury twin, the Comet. I rented one of these things 35 years ago while my rusted Porsche was in the shop. The rental car had the 302 V8, though. It was an absolute BEAST, with all its weight on the front wheels and no traction, it could burn rubber for a block before hooking up, but couldn't turn a corner without slowing 'way down.

Either a Ford Maverick or a Mercury Comet. I think that's a Mercury emblem on the hood. My money's on a Comet. Yep, it's a Mercuy Maverick. I put two links at the bottom. The top link is a Comet. The bottom is a Maverick.

Yup, a Mercury Comet. I'd guess it's a '70. The motor is a 250. This is usually a reliable economy motor, and should get about 25 mpg in this car. But the car that surrounds it is pure trash. I'm surprised that it's still on the road.
