Interesting question... In alot of ways- the Internet can be a kind of Social "Escape" -where you can "act out" who you THINK you "are", without having to deal with the immediate consequences. So in THAT way- it could potentially "isolate" a person- & make them MORE lonely. In MY case; I'm not particularly "sociable" in the first place (This Site is the ONLY one I communicate with other people- in)- so I'm on here trolling for Information, doing finances, or listening to music. Its really done nothing for me- other than replace some the of hours a day I USED to watch TV...

More lonely- I never am on internet at home because I have real friends- but when I goto work and it is slow I will browse it- If I did it at home I would get big and fat and lonely- I might even become a drunk- sound familiar......Yes, you reading this, so go outside and play basketball and run and meet friends you lonely little runt-or nerd-or dork- or fatty-or whatever you happen to be that is reading this......GET A LIFE rather than live it through a unrealitic tube where you can feel invincible-loner- go to a pub and pick up a real woman-not hand lotion and a picture!!!!

Less lonely--more in touch with current events than I would be without it. I use it when I am stuck at home, anyway, so it's not preventing me from doing anything else.
