Do the people (company') that profit off war also happen to own most of the mass media ?
If they did would the words conflict of interest come up ?

If they did would you view the nightly news diffrently ?


Should a company with military contracts be allowed to own in part of whole any newspaper and or TV radio broadcast station(s)

Mostly they just buy the mass media.

General Electric owns NBC, and NBC has mostly reported what General Electric wanted reported, but since GE got a new CEO they have not micromanaged it as much.

The REAL money however is in the propaganda purchased directly, not just for war profiteers, but for all ranges of power, sometimes in their own name , often hidden behind some "Front".

When was the last time you saw an add for stuff you can't even tell what they are selling, much less able to buy, like ADM, Boeing, Lockheed, or other company that doesn't even make retail products? They are not spending millions of dollars for those ads to sell airplanes to you.

Of course there are others who have retail products, particularly drugs, cars, and even household products, but are still using the advertising to get, or keep the Media in line by being able to threaten to remove such income if they don't like the coverage.

Then there is the many secret agendas in the many foundations, and other bland or Orwellian named groups that either support propaganda shows directly or support "pundits" and other "experts" who go on all the shows to promote their propaganda.

The Gang Of Pirates spend billions in tax free donations to these groups that not only act as a chorus for the latest spin on everything but promote and recycle gang members like Newt, Scooter, or Rumsfeld, either to train for command, or a cushy retirement, until they can be recycled after folk have forgotten their crimes.

This last group has spent the most to get us into and stay in the War in Iraq, and is trying to push us into a war in Iran as well. But their greater crime is how they are destroying the US.and the world

You bet! That is why the Republicans are so for war. Look at how many companies have made millions on the war. I don't think anyone person should have control of our media. If it is owned by an individual, they should have no input on the news. I don't think there should ever be a conflict of interest. One person should not be able to own more than one of our TV stations. News broadcasters should not be fired if they don't agree with the President and refuse to tell lies to the American people. Our news media should be free to report the news without being forced to lie.

if they owned, or controlled the media i think the first sign would be that they would speak favorably about the war. all i hear is hate and anger towards, bush, gonzales, libby, rumsfeld, rice, and cheney. every single day, all day. fox portrays a more favorable view of supporters of the war...so maybe fox?
