What do you expect? His military record is below minimal; he never rated as even a mediocre officer.

He's a total loser who learned nothing of strategy.

Charlie Brown is in charge.

The "surge" is included in "the course".

Bush just swore today to reject any consideration or debate regarding altering plans based on changed circumstances.

In effect, he's doing the political equivalent of a Evil Keneival -- closing his eyes after taking the jump and hoping there's somewhere to land on the other side.

No. He considers the surge as part of staying the course. The course being American involvement in Iraq until Iraq has a form of Democratic Gov't. capable and stable enough to take over control and maintain stability in Iraq, which requires a strong military and police force of their own. The surge is still building as more of our troops are seeing extended tours of duty and more troops are still being deployed.

The surge just kicked off. What he said he was making no decision until he hears from his generals who are on the ground in Iraq when they give their report in September. The president is absolutely right on this topic.

Do you have a source for any claim about how the surge is going? I'd like to see it.

The latest news is that the surge is working very well. We now have the citizens fighting back against the insurgents that are killing them.
