I know what you mean; my friend got this job and naturally I was really happy for them, but pissed because I didn't have one and I always thought I was better at things then her.

Sure. I get that when my exgirlfriend dates someone... she's happy, and I'm happy that she's happy, but I'm so sad because I'm still in love with her. Of course it's selfish, but we're only human.
