I was doodling words down the other day and came up with this.....
Does anyone else know what i mean?
They say 'look to the future'
But then, what do i do
If when I try to look forward
My past blocks my view?

OMG this is where i am at the minute and its really hard to focus on the positives ... i keep looking back and actually feeling exhusted by it all... i have some regrets .. i have some worries of what was.. and most of all it has left me feeling really scared and vulnerable.. i dont feel strong enough yet to look forward as the past does keep blocking my view..Its hard to look to the future when you feel so small and you just want someone to come and take you then say ..its ok, everything will work out allright... and actually do something for you.. all this advice but no real help.. xxxxxxxxxxx from your soul mate

The past will drag you down, leaving you wondering about the future and coming to conclusions about it based on previous events. This might be good or bad, but concidering you used the word "blocks" this might be somewhat troublesome. I think it's just you're trying to get somewhere, but past things are keeping you from getting there because of possibly tough memories.

Your question was if anyone knew what you meant?
Of course I do.
And yes, I feel the exact same way you do.
Sometimes the past is too heavy and painful to overcome right away. One has to come to terms with what has happened and what never will happen, then direct their focus from the present onward.
Things will get better.
I promise.

this to me that you are holding on to the past too much to stop you from seeing the future and continuing to live exactly the same because your past is stopping you with moving on.
I can empathise with this although i allows try to move on. I dont like having to rely on others to get me through life.

It means that you are dwelling on the pain of past experiences in your life and you are expecting that pain to repeat in your future. If you can forgive those who you felt inflicted the pain and forgive yourself for allowing them to make you feel pain, you can release the past memory. Then, you can look forward to a new future of joy with an open heart; free to love with a willingness to be vulnerable. Then you can look at each new person in your life with fresh and innocent eyes instead of coloring them with past bitterness and resentment.

Very well written, and so true. All we can really live is this moment, here and now. We can look to the future lightly, live in this moment as if our goals are already fulfilled. The past is gone, and only affects us in so much as there is karma to pay or we put our attention there.

Your past only blocks your view if you focus at such a short distance.
Look beyond it. Nobody's past blocks their view. It's easier to say your lawnmower won't work so you can't cut the grass then to get it fixed.

Very poetic and very good. If you have any more like that, let me know.
But that avoids the issue. If you feel what you have written from the heart and the way you are feeling then talk to someone. I'LL listen.

Yes I understand. I believe you are still living in the past. The correct thinking is things will get better. It's in your control. I truthfully don't think things get better for everybody hopefully they will for you.
