My boyfriends parents pay $595 a month for Child Support and when Ava gets to be about 8-10 months they will have to pay $895. Every month his parents together bring home about $9000 a month. So is $595 to much or to little for there monthly income?

His parents are paying because we are minors(im 14 and hes 15) The court ordered $610 but his parents were aloud to add or subtract $15

For all of you who are saying I want more money thats not true. I was just wondering if this number sounds right because alot of people I have talked to on Cafemom.com said they get less for 2 or 3 kids. So stop saying it sounds like I want more money its not true.

hey there,

I have emailed you of site with a more in depth reply but in all honesty it sounds about right..................remember they still have other bills and mortgage / rent to cover not least they have at least one child of their own to raise...........after a period of years [varies from state to state] you can ask for a review of the process and the money can go up and can go down depends on the criteria at that point.

I sort of see where alot of the replies are going, it would be worth remembering that the moment the father turns 18 ALL child support will be based on his wages and his ALONE so I suggest socking some of this cash away if you can now to help you out during the lean years to come and I can assure you there will be a few.....after all he already knows he is going to have to pay a large percent of whatever he earns over to you and the baby, hardly a huge incentive to get a well paying job is it.

Take care and all I can say is that it must be very hard for you being such a child yet having to deal with things as a grownup.

Regards

Most child support is based upon your income and the father's income. The parent's income cannot be factored into the equation.

Not saying that you shouldn't complain, but at least it appears as if they will be able to pay you on a regular basis, and you don't have to worry about all the mother's that go without due to deadbeat parents.

I dont think his parents should have to pay anything. You two made the bed youre now sleeping in. Didnt you listen when people told you that you were too young to be thinking about sex? Apparently not. Get a job! YOU have a baby to raise.

The boyfriends parents should not be paying anything. They did not lay down and make that baby. That aside with that amount of income that is about the right amount. Sounds to me like you want more money? Why should they have to be the sole source of support?

How much did the court order? Since his parents did not father your child, why should they pay? If you think you are old enough for sex, you need to be old enough for the consequences

It seems a bit on the high side to me, but these formulas vary from state to state depending on cost of living and other things. I wouldn't worry about it.

No, it's not right - your boyfriend was the one that fathered the kid, he should be the one paying, not his parents. I agree with David (above) on that point.

The numbers look about right.

Every state has its own formula based on income percentages, but those numbers look ballpark.

Well who ever decided the case apparently made the decision that it was just right. If you want more ask..... doesnt mean you will get it, but..... sound like you are not satisfied....
