I'm with coragryph. The Government should stay out of marriage altogether. The power to grant the right of the sacrament of marriage should return to churches only.

The premise of the question is faulty. As is your follow up.
I've reached that conclusion on my own by looking at
the VOTES.
Democrats more often that not favor gay marriage.
All places where gay marriage/civil unions are now allowed
by law, are in fact democratic strongholds...i.e...SF, Vermont...
All democratic candidates running for president have also
sided on letting a man marry another man, or a woman marry another woman.
So we don't need any media to lead us to believe anything, we have the voting records of the candidates in question.

ummm I'm a Democrat and this December I'll be married for 12 years ummm I'm a guy and yes my wife is a Female.
my mom and dad are still married too there in there 60's now and umm yes they are Democrats too.
So in closing some of us Democrats do believe in traditional marriage.

What is a traditional marriage? Why should anyone except the superstitious religionists mind who marries who?Two consenting adults should be allowed the same rites as any two consenting adults.

The Republicans would like everyone to believe Liberals marry gays, kill our children and refuse to allow anybody to have a gun. The conservatives have become a bunch of closed minded hypocrites.
