i think the easiest way to find out is to look at the players that are not going to win then decide from the players you have left. All of the players obvously have the power number cept maybe david right.
Manny Ramirez- well he wont get it because he just doenst have the average and cant compete with a power hit like Arod in the AL. He cant even compete with David ortiz for the hr title.
Ryan Howard- wont have the average nor the team strength to get him enough RBIs
Arod- possible candidate. can easily lead the AL in HR and RBI he has no competition. the only question is can he beat ichiro in the average category (ordonez is having a fluke first half he'll cool off and go back down in average)
Derek Lee- hes gotten the closest but he wont have another year like that
Vlad- his "if i can see it i can hit it" strike zone makes him hard to get the average high enough
Mark- Doesnt have the power numbers for the AL
David wright- doesnt even have the power for the NL
Pujols- has the RBI total for sure and maybe can get the average but looking at this year might have trouble beating Prince fielder and Ryan howard in the hr department
i think the safest bet is arod but ichiro would have to have an off year

I'd say Pujols. He is arguably the best all around hitter in the game.
Texiera, A-Rod and Howard I don't think are good enough average hitters.
Lee and Vlad don't have enough help in the lineup to win RBI crowns.
Wright doesn't have the power.
Ramirez would be the only one I would give a chance to besides Albert, but I think his best years are behind him.

i think it will be arod (this year?) or pujols. Arod obviously is leading the AL in HR and RBI thusfar this season. He's also hitting well above .300. I don't think Magglio Ordonez will continue his current hitting pace the entire season, but there are still guys like arod's teamage, Derek Jeter, and Ichiro who will most likely hit over .330 for god knows how many years. It is unlikely that arod will win the batting title this year. However, Albert Pujols has a legitamite chance. He has a career .330 BA. He's previously hit .359 in his career. He's hit .331 twice and .330 once. He has the power to leadd in HR and RBI (he's the fastest player to 250 HR, and the only one besides Ted Williams to have 100+ RBI in each of his first 6 seasons). Also, for more jaw dropping stats, he's the only player to have 35+ HR in each of his first 6 seasons. While Matt Holliday is one of those players who can hit over .330- Pujols has a great chance to one day win the triple crown. I'm not sayin it'll happen- but of those people listed, and of all MLB players, he's the most likely.

Albert Pujols has the best chance because he has the best shot to hit for the highest average, which is always the biggest drawback for a power hitter going after the triple crown.

Its looking difficult because hes not playing like his usual self, and Ramirez is on an absolute tear. He'll probably end up leading in everything but BA and walks by the end of the year. In order to win batting title, Ramirez will need to have his average drop down to atleast .340, which is definately possible, if not probable. Even though its not noticable to most, Pujols has been slumping hard since the allstar game, once he breaks out his BA will shoot up fast.

If I had to pick someone I'd pick Pujols, but IMO I don't think any of them will be able to do it. Look at AROD this year, he's got the HRs, RBIs, but no way he will get his avg up high enough to win the batting title.

Tiexiera never hits for a good enough average.
Guerrero gets pitched around in good RBI situations.
ARod can do it. Pujols can do it. Another guy I would add to your list is Magglio Ordonez.

If derek lee ever gets his homerun swing back he would have the best chance he came close 2 or 3 years ago.

I don't think anyone will ever win it again, home runs and RBI'S are easy but average is the hardest. Most home run hitters strike out a lot so their average will not be as high as the other hitters.
