Who controls the internet--Who Can you report to if they will not resolve an issue or just plain ignore you

My problem is they are installing Malware on my system then trying to charge me to remove it .No security provider has ever heard of it but their tec support sure has $ 180 worth the 4th time it has happend i have to format to clear it

Ok Thanks a lot Straight -Thats what I got so PO about a while back I can deal with spyware but from my own ISP ??? But thanks again Johnny

Hey Johnny, this may sound odd to many, but there really isn't such a thing as the "internet". What we think of as the internet is simply 2 or more computers that are talking to each other. Of course, it's on a much larger scale, but that's essentially all it is. No person or agency controlls this. Many agencies monitor communications on the internet but they don't directly control them. It just sounds like you have some nasty spyware on your computer. This isn't really my field, but that's my two cents.

No govt agency controls the internet.

It is an international network, with the infrastructure provided and maintained mostly by private companies.

ICANN is a quasi-govt agency that handles domain name registration and internet address allocation, but they don't deal with content -- just names and addresses.

If you have a problem with what some person or company is doing, you need to deal with them directly.

All means of communication are the jurisdiction of the Federal Communication Commission. I believe that includes the Internet.
