No because there would always be first time offenders, and I think they would still offend just not using the missing organ.
They would still have pornography too.
I dont know the answer, perhaps the death penalty in the case of paedohilia, only if prooved beyond a shadow of a doubt.

I know a man in this state that was castrated for raping a young teen. His missing two----- were placed inside a jar in some sort of chemical and was placed on the Sheriff desk. As far as I know they may still be there.
Maybe two years passed and he raped again and back in prison.
The life's of the victims spend their lives trying to get through it!
These creeps should get life for the very first convicted charge, this would help tremendously.

No. Does the Death Penalty stop Murders? Do long jail sentences stop drug addiction?? Do low poll #s stop Bush from sending more troops into Iraq??? No, No, & NO ! You can't "punish" someone who's ILL ! They need psychiatric help... If you just throw them into jail, or punish them because they're "bad"- they're ONLY going to do it again. Pedophiles need to be shown that what they're doing- HURTS people...-& to relate to that pain on an emotional basis. Quick "fixes" don't work (if they DID- you wouldn't have had to ask that question).

It's been proven time and time again that castration does not stop pedophiles. I take a very hard stand on this crime. First offense would get them 25 years. Second would be life imprisonment.

I doubt it - does the death sentence stop all murder?
I don't know what punishment would be fair, but what I do find annoying is that using drugs to temporarily stop the production of testosterone in men has been labelled "CHEMICAL CASTRATION".
Stopping women's eggs maturing is called birth control.

Maybe if there were no way for an erection to take place, it would help some. Not all sex crimes are about the sex, though. I don't believe ay criminal has rights-especially one who rapes or kills. There is very little chance of false convictions now a days due to DNA. I believe they should be hanged at the court house square with a sign that reads what their crime was. To hell with housing them for "life" and feeding or counseling them. Trees are abundant and rope is cheap.

No matter what punishment we come up with some organization of do gooders will try to stop it. China took care of the guy who approved some bad food. They executed him. I bet the new guy will do the best job ever.

I think that the child molesters should be used for product and medical testing instead of the animals. Then at least they can serve a purpose to society.

Execution. They cannot be redeemed, they cannot be released into Society.....we don't need 'em, and they don't deserve free R&B+Medical for the rest of their nasty lives on MY tab!
Now, if they want to volunteer for drug evaluation testing, or organ donation, they might earn the right to consume oxygen and food until they outlive their usefulness. Other than that, off 'em.
