No, the problem with that is that the outside frog could make your pixie frog sick. The outside frog could bring bacteria as well, into the habitat that was not there before. You never want to mix captive animals with wild animals. Plus they need different things. They have different requirements. I'm sure of this because you found the frog in your yard. And no, that doesn't mean that you can place the outside frog in another tank with materials from outside. Again, the frog could become sick because of the materials outside. It seems silly, but when an animal is outside an it passes over a leaf or something with bacteria it might become infected by it. But when it's placed in a tank that animal is going to cross over it several times, making it very likely that it will become infected. The best option is to let the outside frog go and stick with what you have. Read up before you try to place any other animals inside the tank with your frog.

Pixie frogs can be known for their cannibalism as one of their very un-pixie-like traits...so not only are diseases and parasites from a wild frog an issue and care requirements being different (as already stated in other answers), but the new frog could be eaten if it was small enough...or at the very least, they could stress each other out to the point of both dying from stress-related illnesses. Best to leave the wild one wild...:-)

Salt Water or Fresh tank ? Some species of frogs might be copacetic to salt I suspect most would croak. What kind of fish ? Many species are predators... that eat frogs... Does your new friend have any parasites? Just like some dogs get worms like heart worms, fish get worms too. It's illegal in many states to fish with home dug earth worms because they carry parasites, and these can make fish sick. This is especially true if your family is in the fresh trout business and that is the tank you are talking about... not cool at all, people get parasites too, from eating sushi made from infected fish for instance. Was a Boy Scout... might still be an honorary... got allot of that with the medals from the gulf war, and the wounds from the service with the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife. Scouting is a great place to learn about frogs, worms and fish.

What kind of frog are you putting in with the pixie? Are you sure it won't get bigger? If it does, frogs eat ANYTHING that moves and will fit in their mouths. Also there is the very serious risk of introducing wild bacteria, viruses and parasites that your little pixie has no defenses against. I wouldn't do it and wouldn't suggest it.

Don't even keep the frog. If you kept it, it probably wouldn't eat because it would be too stressed and then starve to death. Put the frog back in your yard where you found it.

noooo i wouldn't, if its just a little tree frog you'll find them all the time and your pixie frogs would try to eat it and you can risk it getting sick. I wouldn't try it, you can keep small little frogs in a small container and that will be okay, but i'd just let him go.
