I am a HUGE fan of Young and the Restless! I've been watching it since the 5th grade which would be 17 years for me, WOW!!! There was a brief period where I was watching it just every now and then because my VCR was goofed up and I couldn't record it and I had classes during that time. My husband is a big fan too but just in the last year. He laughed at me for watching soaps but now he's just as hooked if not worse than me! We record it on DVR and watch it together. My husband and I discuss the storylines a lot. We also enjoy ATWT, but Young and the Restless will always be my favorite. In fact, I used to belong to the fan club and got a picture of the cast and newsletters.

"The Young and The Restless" all the way, girlfriend! I've been watching that since Lauren was was trying to get Danny Romalotti's attention! When they actually showed Paul's prying, nosy mother! ( she always irritated me! ) I liked the original Ashley Abbot- she was so beautiful. I haven't watched it in years but my mother keeps me up to date ( she subscribes to The CBS Soap Opera Digest) and she records the shows and my parents stay up late and watch them before they go to sleep. But, my all time favorite was General Hospital- especially in 1980 (yeah, I'm older than dirt) when Luke and Laura made their escape! That was the most exciting bit ever! Now, stop watching tv, and call me! :o)

Young and the Restless. For it being a soap opera, I think it is the most realistic. There is no cloning, or coming back to life 20 times, you know all that crazy soap opera stuff.

I have watched "The Young and the Restless" since its beginning in 1973. It revolves around the rivalries, romances, hopes and fears of the residents of the fictional Midwestern town, Genoa City. The lives and loves of a wide variety of characters mingle through the generations, dominated by the Newmans and the Abbotts.

I've watched the Y&R since it started as often as work would let me. I worked with over 1000 guys and a few girls at one point when it was really exciting. We got all the guys involved and they would be sushing everyone instead of us girls. One of my guy friends even bought a little portable TV so we could take it with us when we went out and about. That's how I saw the Challenger blow up. But everyone would gather around us to see what was happening and it was great fun. I even found a set of books that had the beginning year or so in it so he could catch up. I just can't believe I missed when Tom Selleck played a role for awhile. You can tell how old I am, but Tom Selleck is still a yum to me.
Exciting time was when Lauren was married to Paul and was kidnapped.

My favourite soap opera has to be Passions, although the episodes are all repeats where I'm from.
I also don't mind Desperate Housewives, Neighbours, Home & Away and Degrassi.

I don't often catch it, but I'm still an All My Children Fan. A bunch of us girls used to gather in our college dorm every day after class, and I've always taken a peek since then to see what Erica Kane is up to. I've lost count now of how many times she's been married. Some people actually record them to watch at night!!
