i work for a makeup company and they claim that our makeup brushes are made with cruelty free animal hair. I was just wondering if anyone knows how what cruelty free means, in this case.

Quite a few years ago, I worked for a makeup company that claimed to use cruelty free animal hair in their makeup brushes too. I asked & was told that the hair is clipped or trimmed from domesticated animals, like goats.

However, this still posed a problem since some people felt it is still cruel to keep animals for the purpose of harvesting their hair or wool.

These days - there are excellent synthetics available so animal hair brushes aren't necessary & more companies are offering quality brushes made w/ synthetic fibers.

i could think of no--the hair probable comes from between the long-haired breeds of rabbits, as quickly as they shed (or this is trimmed) interior the summertime. some rabbits have truly long hair--often no longer classic puppy rabbits, because of the fact no youngster is going to groom them precise. you are able to make an entire sweater from the hair my cat sheds, and that i does not call it animal cruelty! :) i could say this is the comparable element as utilising wool from a sheep. it may purely be cruel if the rabbits are taken care of inhumanely (saved in tiny cages, no longer fed, etc.).
