There are lots of reasons that one may not ovulate however, they are mainly all hormonal. I for one did not ovulate because of a lack of progesterone and something called poly cystic ovary syndrome. If you are not ovulating or bleeding, you should see your doctor unless you have taken birth control to purposely cause this.
Very Best Wishes!

Ovulation occurs due to the increase of the Luteinizing hormone. During the menstrual cycle only a small amount of LH is made, but in the middle of the cycle LH briefly increases. This increase is called the "LH surge" and precedes ovulation.

Having a period does not necessarily mean that ovulation has taken place. Some women may have what is called an anovulatory cycle, (meaning no ovulation) and can experience some bleeding which is mistaken for a period, but it is actually not a true period.

Most often, women who do not ovulate also do not menstruate, a disorder known as amenorrhea, or do not menstruate regularly, a condition called oligomenorrhea.

Huh? If you ovulate, then you will have a period, unless the egg is fertilized.
