There is a way to close it without having to restart the computer. After hitting CTRL, ALT and DEL choose Task Manager. Then select the problematic application from Programs and then hit End Program

Did you try using CTRL+ALT+DEL Keys on the keyboard, bring up the Task Manager. Go to the Applications (tab) and highlight the IE window that will not close, and clicking End Process Button ?

Press CTRL - ALT - DELETE. This will bring up the task manager for Windows. Select the troublesome window and hit End Task.
If this doesn't work, hold the Power button on your computer for 10 seconds and reboot it.

Try closing the entire browser. If that doesn't work, then go to the task manager and try and end the program from there. To do that press, control, alt and delete at the same time. then, if you're using internet explorer, look under the "processes" tab for "iexplorer.exe"

That's not good! You could try the Ctrl, Alt, Delete thing first and if that doesn't work just shut down. Then you should probably try dowloading spybot to get rid of whatever may have caused the prob to begin with.

CTRL + ALT+ Del highlight the program in question and hit the "end task" button. That should do it.
