For me, I tend to do 3rd person. When I was younger I did 1st person a lot. One of my main problems with 1st person stories is the word "I" is OVERUSED. It gets irritating after a while.

I tend to find 3rd person to be easier. It's a bit like gathering some folks together and telling a story in person. You're the story teller in person, and it's the same way in written form. Unless you're talking about something that has either happened to you or that you have been involved with, it's easier to tell a story from 3rd person POV than it is from 1st person POV because you don't have to keep reminding yourself to use I, my, mine, or me when typing from the main character's POV but not typing dialogue.

I write in 3rd person. I'm just not comfortable with 1st person. For some reason, I just feel creepy writing in 1st person.

3rd person definitely. I can't think up crap in first person because it is just so hard to start out a story. Because of this, I've always written in 3rd person.

Also, I am writing my very first novel. I've had run-ins with another idea of mine, because it was just too childish (the way it was written, not the plot). I hope to see it on bookshelves by 2009.

Recently, I've been more comfortable with the 1st person.

The only thing I don't like about 1st person is it's hard to introduce the main character's name until a second character comes in and says it. =)

3rd person, for sure. I don't know why.. maybe it makes me feel less vulnerable or something (I can only conjecture). Definitely, any time I write a short story I almost always go automatically to the 3rd person.

Of all the things I have published, my best work is always 1st person. I have a natural gift that way.

nick enjoys talking and writing in third person because it confuses other people when nick referrs to himself as nick and not "I". nick thinks it is much more fun to speak in the third person because nick enjoys confusing people.
