i have actually heard and kind of noticed that. i am a native chicago-an and i have lived here my whole life minus one year when i lived in sunny orlando and i DID notice that i was happier and seemed to get more done during the day and that everyone around me was much more laid back compared to chicago where everyone is crabby and in a hurry and rude to total strangers regularly. i didn't notice it until i heard somewhere that it has to do with the weather, literally. that people that live in warmer, sunnier climates seemed to report less stress than people that lived in cooler, cloudier climates.
