For a friend for christmas (I like to make christmas gifts during the summer) I want to make a stuffed dragon. I have the pattern but I want to do a test run on it because it looks hard for a beginner like me. I already know I want to make his out of a black scaly-looking fabric, but I wanted to do something different with mine. Should it be fleece, something a little furrier, or something shiny? What do you think?

I have several furry dragons, and while they look cute, they do not look even half as dragony as the 'scale' fabric ones.
Fleece is OK, but shiny could well be best.
And if you want it to be a real test-run, the fabric should be in the same group, that is as stretchy or furry and so on, because that does make a lot of difference.

Look in the prom section of the fabric store. You'll find some cool metallic prints. Also if they have a dance section - or swimming, but you might not like anything too stretchy because then your dragon might be too lumpy.
