I have this really bad sharp pain or burning in my vagina, but I'm a virgin, so it can't be like a std. Could it be a vaginal yeast infection or something like that?? If it is could that be serious, or cause problems?? I'm really worried about this, and I don't want to go to my doctor for it. I think about it all the time and I'm scared. so please help me!

If you're really worried about it, go to the doctor!!! seriously, i know it's embarrassing to talk about your privates to someone whose basically a stranger, but they are trained in this sort of thing.

there are a few things it could be that I'm aware of.. being a UTI, bladder infection, or yeast infection, but there could easily be something else that I'm not aware of, and it could be really serious!!

Any of those things left untreated can be bad.

You really need to go to the doctor. Just remember they are professionals and there fore will treat you with respect and try to make you as comfortable as possible.

It could very well be a yeast infection. They are easy to cure, don't freak out. Call the doctor. They know about this things and will not judge you.

If untreated it can cause problems, get it taken care of.

In the future wear cotton underwear, eat yogurt frequently, reduce the amount of food you eat that contains yeast such as breads, reduce refined sugar, and always make sure that when you wipe after going to the bathroom, you wipe away from the vagina.

i dont know where you live or what age you are but if you're too embarrassed to go to your family doctor, there are usually clinics for 'womens issues' that can make you feel much more comfortable than your GPs surgery. Maybe try there but please do see a doctor. Perhaps you could also confide in a girly friend or sister & they could go with you. Good luck!

It sounds like it could be a UTI (urinary tract infection.) It's not life-threatening or anything, but you should see a doctor anyway.

You should go to the doctor.. you never know what it could be.. it's good to go regularly anyways because you can develop cysts and other things as well.
