First of all, millions of people have physical limitations and still have nice normal relationships--what you want to look for is an understanding, tolerant man. Write a note explaining that you are deaf but can communicate your own way if he is willing to be patient and try. This is easy when you think about it--silence is golden--it speaks in a different way. Just your attitude should impress him--if not-- find another guy--you can do it--smile relax and good luck

Email or text message.
He's going to find out you're deaf sooner or later. His first impressions of a funny intonation of voice might color his judgment of your intellect. So make the first communications hand written or electronic text and long enough that his first impression doesn't leave him with a false impression of your intellect and does leave him understanding that you're deaf. Then he's going to be prepared when he gets to 1 on 1 direct communication.
As far as I know, there isn't any real stigma about a deaf woman in the minds of males. A guy with hormones isn't likely to pass you over for that unless he's shallow, in which case you're better off without him.
To the best of my knowledge, none of the deaf women I knew (3 so far) fancied me. They clearly have higher standards :(

Pass him a note like the first answer suggested. Eventually he will find out you are deaf if you ever want to become friends or more, so now is as good as time as any.
I know you are not explicitly asking this, but maybe you are implying it. So rest assured there are guys out there who would not care about someone's ability to hear. I am not naive to think it might not cause inconveniences at times for everyone involved, but someone who truly cares about you would not think is an issue.
Good luck.

Why would you wanna start out like that and lie immediately?
If he has a problem with your hearing loss, then why would you want him?
I am Deaf and my spouse is hearing.
Not worth hiding.
However you didn't ask for morals, so if you don't want him to know, you are going to HAVE to talk to him with perfect speech, and understand everything he is saying back.
Good luck on the telephone or if he tries to say something while your head or back is turned.
You'll be busted right quick.
Better to be honest. :-)

I don't think that there is a way for you to communicate with him without him knowing that you are deaf. The only way that I can think of is if you write him a note and tell him you are interested in getting to know him. Put your IM or some form of communication on it and you can chat that way.

Be honest from the start. it totally WON'T be a big deal if he's in to you. Don't try to hide it. It will have to come out sooner or later and you shouldn't waist your time trying to pretend you're NOT deaf at first just to tell him finally and him not like you for it he's a lucky guy to have someone interested in him.

Chat with him on the internet or via text messages. Why do you want to hide your deafness? How long do you think you can keep *that* up?

Can you read lips?
What does it matter that he know if you are deaf? Don't hide it.
