I thought they switched it up every year. Last year the all-star game was in Pittsburgh (NL) and this year it's in San Fran (NL). Why is this??? Is the NL going to be the home team again?

The story goes that when the Giants built their new ballpark, they fought hard to host the All-Star game with MLB within 10 years after opening. Since there were no other new ballparks to showcase in the AL, San Francisco was selected.

However 2008's game will be at Yankee Stadium the final year for Yankee Stadium, 2009 in St. Louis.

I could be mistaken, but I read somewhere that it was supposed to be in Yankee Stadium this year, but MLB switched it so that next year's All-Star Game could be played in the final season of old Yankee Stadium

Don't know if this is true, but it would make sense (as much "sense" as Bud Selig can make, anyway): perhaps, since the winning league in the All-Star Game gets home field advantage in the next World Series, the losing league gets to host the next All-Star game.
