I like bands after the 80s. That is only because I had the most fun in the 90s. Those were the years of my late teens and 20s. It all depends on your age. The younger college aged kids of today would probably prefer music of this decade rather than the 80s or 90s.

Only Radiohead, Porcupine Tree, Opeth and Dream Theater. All the good bands were in the 60's and 70's.

The bands before the 80's. Such as the "Who", "The Rolling Stones", "Pink Floyd" the list goes on and on.

I prefer both before and after. I love most 60s and 70s bands, because without them, I wouldn't have the music I like of today.

Before and during the 80's. Everything after that is pretty much wussy music.

They recorded to tape. modifying replaced into lots extra complicated then. case in point, in case you had to decrease and paste a ingredient someplace else, you truly had to decrease and glue the reel of tape, and that took practice. in addition to, every time you listened to the tape, the audio high quality degraded somewhat, so which you're able to desire to no longer purely play it repeatedly back. For all of those motives, there replaced into much less margin for errors, so musicians had to coach lots extra reliable previously so as that via the time the engineer hit 'checklist', they'd nail it in 2 or 3 takes. yet another interesting ingredient approximately tape replaced into which you have been lots extra limited in how many simultaneous 'tracks' or 'channels' of audio you will have. This meant that engineers normally had to do issues like mixture each and all the drums jointly onto one music, and then they could no longer get right of entry to somebody drum for modifying (it is style of like attempting to unmix cake dough). so they had to get very sensible with utilising outcomes on the comprehensive drum equipment (case in point) in the style of way that purely the needed sounds have been altered.
