I love festivals! I especially love the ones in the fall where you can get out in the beautiful weather and buy goodies and other stuff you don't need but LOVE. Autumn is just my favorite time of year. Nearby, we have the Covered Bridge Festival, the Broom Corn Festival, the Apple & Pork Festival and many more. I don't know if they're as popular in other parts of the country as they are in the midwest but I suspect they are.

I used to, before I got so old and out of shape. My favorite was always the Art and Wine Festival in Boulder Creek, California. That's up in the Santa Cruz Mountains, near the coast, and in the middle of the redwood forest. It's a small town with quite a few wineries up in the hills, and lots of artists. Also musicians and writers and other creative types. Also aging hippies and bikers. Also yuppies who commute from Silicon Valley, which made the real estate prices go through the roof.

I'm beginning to get homesick. I moved to St. Louis, Missouri, almost five months ago.

There is a orchard/farm park about 30 minutes from my house. They do festivals all summer long and my son LOVES the kids music and games, and I love the food. So far we've been to the Strawberry Festival and the Blueberry Festival. Also in Philadelphia they are having a Indian Cultural Festival next month and I can't wait to go!
