a loss of innocence would be one way to term it. we were in the Vietnam war, and a lot of my friends and family names are on the wall. there was the age of change from respect for the military to disgust which made me personally furious. there was the Kent State College Riot ( Ohio ) which caused a political uproar. the hippie movement and draft dodgers running off to Canada to save their blank blanks. there was the assassination of President Kennedy and a tremendous explosion in my home town in 1968. after graduation we hoped to make the world a better place but sadly many young men fell in Vietnam and our country lost many intelligent men. there was the civil rights movement and political changes took place because of the integration laws passed. personally dressed the same as I did in the 50's in jeans, black leather jacket and motorcycle boots. a tee shirt with a cigarette pack rolled up in a sleeve. but later in the 60's there were bell bottom style pants, tie dyed shirts, a hippy style hat, etc. many were into experimenting in drugs but was in the mid - west which was not that drug excited. the music changed from the mid -60 era because of the British Invasion and several of the USA popular singers took a back - seat. after the war went to work and got married in 1969 and started taking my place as a normal citizen in the work force, trying to have as normal a life as possible. there are still some who have both medical and mental problems from Agent Orange and other traumatic war experiences. when going back to school there were problems with younger students calling veterans all types of names but we learned to ignore them as if it wasn't for the veterans who did their duty who knows what would have happened ? hope this helps answer some of your questions. for more information suggest you talk with other veterans and local people who grew up then especially on the west and east coast because I never attended Woodstock or any other
