i would have to dispute you on that one. i am not a socialist, i am a conservative republican. you only hear the libs make noise and we have gotten rid of plenty of nutso stuff. on the other hand, they are pretty liberal here.
like others have mentioned, what would the country do without california, the biggest population in the nation not to mention the 7th largest economy in the world, its often changing places with france? yeah, we do things and test things the rest of the country takes for their own. you know, that thing about states rights..... we create, some good, some bad, you follow!

Why is California a socialist experiment more than any other state. Most progressive movements start in Calif. and are adopted by other states in time. Even Texas has finally had to admit that control of air pollution can be legislated.

No all we are baring is one barrio and ghetto after another! we pay the most in taxes, yet we have nothing! our streets are a wreck one hole and crack after another, you can't drink our water, and our schools are over run and under staffed, and if you do find a place where you want your child to go to school and you want to live in your out unless you make a high six figure salary! And for the first time sense becoming a state more people moved out of California than moved in! The only thing we have is nice weather! But boy do we pay for it!

California is contributing a lot more to the federal economy in taxes than it gets back. Without contributions from states like California a lot of Red states would be in serious trouble.

Question, have you ever lived in California? Because if you did, you would know that it's not as a liberal as people may think. Outside of San Francisco and LA, there are a lot of conservative and Mormon communities. (I live in California)

Yes it is bearing fruit for neighboring Western states enjoying the influx of corporations and productive people fleeing the repressive taxes and policies of the People's Republic of California.

California socialst experiment is a failure. The state legislature is out of control with legislating everything from lightbulbs to the sex organs of animals. Thank God for Tom McClintock and the Republicans few that still exist stopping RINO Arnold from his health care for all.
Arnold is hardly a republican

Considering that if California was separated from the US as a nation of it's own it would have one the the 10 largest economies of all nations... I'd say they are doing pretty good.

If you call California a socialist experiment, then yes. It has a greater economy then most countries.
