Place in common denominators, and convert to improper fractions. In this case, you have to convert everything to 8ths

3 7/8 = 3*8/8 + 7/8 = (3*8+7)/8 = 31/8

1 3/4 = 1*8/8 + (3/4)*(2/2) = (1*8 + 3*2)/8 = 14/8

Now you can just add:

31/8 + 14/8 = (31 + 14)/8 = 45/8

Then covert back to mixed form:

45/8 = (40+5)/8 = 40/8 + 5/8 = 5 + 5/8 = 5 5/8

Change everything to fractions with the same denominator.
3 7/8 = (3*8 + 7)/8 = (24+7)/8 = 31/8
1 3/4 = (1*8 + 3*2)/8 = (8+6)/8 = 14/8
now you can easily add the two fractions
31/8 + 14/8 = (31+14)/8 = 45/8
now you need to reduce the fraction
since 5*8=40, you can simplify
45/8 = 40/8+ 5/8 = 5 5/8

3 7/8 + 1 3/4

(8*3+7)/8 + (4*1+3)/4 = 31/8 + 7/4

now get a common denominator of 8 by multiplying the second fraction by 2/2

31/8 + (7/4)*(2/2) = 31/8 + 14/8 = 45/8 = 5 5/8

The solutions above are great, regardless of the undeniable fact that, unsuitable fractions may well be ordinary to artwork with too. 3 7/8 + a million 3/4 can get replaced to 31/8 and seven/4. the easy denominator will become 8 so 7/4 must be elevated by making use of two on the two the numerator and denomenator. 31/8+14/8=40 5/8 8 is going into 40 5 5 situations and has 5 left over supplying you with the respond 5 5/8

first covert the given to fractions completely.
here, u r given 3 7/8. u can simply convert this to improper fraction by
((integer given before the fraction*denominator)+the numerator)/denominator

that is 3 7/8 =((3*8)+7)/8=31/8
similarly 1 3/4 = ((1*4)+3)/4=7/4

now 31/8 +7/4 = (31+7*2)/8, 8 is the least common multiplier of 4 & 8. the rest is done normally.

answere : 45/8

Muliply 3&8,then add 7,similarly multiply 1&4
then add 3
So (3*8+7)/8 + (1*4+3)/4
Or 31/8 +7/4
Or (31 + 7*2)/8 Taking LCM
Or 45/8 ANS
