He will not sign during the time he is taking batting or fielding practice. You would have to get to the game real early and stand near the Yankee dugout, along with many other fans that want an autograph. Have on an A-Rod or Yankee Shirt and get as close to the field as you can. Have an official American League baseball in your hand, They cost about $10, and a pen for him to sign with. Make sure the pen you give him is one where the ink won't come off. If he comes by you just hold the ball and the pen out and do not say anything to him. Remember, he is on a tight schedule and may not have time to sign for you. Do not feel bad or be mad at him, there is always another day. An A-Rod signature on an official American League ball is worth around $100. Have someone with a camera standing near you to take a picture of A-Rod signing as that will be how you prove that you got the A-Rod signature on the ball. The chances that all of this will happen is really not too good but,Good Luck.

I actually got his autograph when he came down to Anaheim but I got 1 on the way in to the stadium. He came in through the front of the gate and I also got it after batting practice right by the dugout right after he finished running and stretching. Dont go to the third base line. Your best chance is to wait until he starts stretching right after batting practice by the Yankee dugout. Good Luck

Ha, yeah, good luck. I am a die hard Yankees fan as well. We saw them in Toronto last summer. Trust me, you're not gonna even get close to him, and if for some reason you do, he won't sign a damn thing. It is extremely frustrating especially when you really want it, not sell it. First, yes they give him ground balls during practice, but he won't sign anything, even at Yankee Stadium. Don't scream his name- that will make him not want to sign anything. As a successful hockey player myself, i hate it when people scream my name and say "over here" I'll purposely not sign anything for them for that reason. The people i sign for are kids, and adults with kids. But who cares about me, lets talk about the Yankees. You won't get any "big name" players. Sorry, but its the truth. You might get a rookie or a lousy player, but not them. If you want to see him, go to above the dugout, not where you wanted. So, in conclusion, don't scream, that irritates them, go above the dugout, and with ALOT of luck, you'll POSSIBLY get it. I doubt, but please let me know how you made out. I'll be anxious to hear from you.
EDIT: Go Yankees, what are you talking about? great tips, but your wrong saying that they only sign on the road. You couldn't be more wrong. You have a MUCh greater chance at yankee stadium. PS- i have the entire 2005 Yankees team on a ball. I'll let you guess how much its worth.

okay heres what you do ( i like alex and jeter too :) youre in luck because they only sign on the road its like impossible at home. im sorry to say it- but your very unlikely to arod's autograph. jeter you have a chance but you have a better chance with guys like damon ( he signs alot). when you go be sure to be wearing tons of yankee fan gear. get down close to the infield- as close as you can go. jeter normally takes ground balls at short during BP, im not sure about alex. if i were you, i wouldnt scream jeters name while hes taking grounders becasue it will distract him and probably get on his nerves a little. (only scream there name if theyre playing catch in teh outfield with someone) when jeter or arod goes into the cage to swing get really close to the cage. usually after players hit, they sign. its going to be hard to get that close to the cage becaus you usually hvae to have specail seats. i think you have a better chance of getting jeter then arod. i heard arod very rarely signs, he has to be in a really good mood. another thing you might want to try is find out where the players come into the stadium after they park their cars or whatever. you have the best shot getting them then. good luck! hope you get an autograph!!! GO JETER! GO AROD! GO YANKS!!! more importantly then getting an autograph, have fun at the game because if you dont get one, dont let it ruin your day! good luck and have fun!
P.S. dont call him alex call him mr. rodriguez and say thank you after you get it. he probably wont look you in the eye so after he signs just be like "thankyou so much"
also- an arod ball is worth like $500 and so is a jeter. not $100 like it says in another answer ( i have an autographed jeter ball)

what i did at jacobs field and yankee staduim was if you get to the staduim early enough you could maybe see alex before bp even starts and after the game go to the players parking lot and ask alex, roger, jeter even posada for their autographs

I guess any song that's really upbeat works. Here are a few I can think of off the top of my head: "Fighter" by Christina Aguilera "Pump It" by the Black Eyed Peas "Welcome to the Jungle" by Guns 'N' Roses (actually, I just really like this song. I guess it really doesn't fit) "Let's Get It Started In Here" by the Black Eyed Peas "We're Not Going to Take It" by Twisted Sister I think any song that riles you up works. Like, a song where you can hear how angry or whatever the singer is, works.

At this point, don't go dressed like an exotic dancer from Toronto. He'll avoid you like the plague.
