If one literally believes the bible, I suppose the answer is certainly "yes". Of course Santa's sleigh has to also be big enough to hold 1 toy for every child on earth, if one believes in Santa claus.

Concider the fact that no Zoo on earth, no matter how large, has ever housed every animal species on earth. Granted, this is the dream of every zoo keeper, but there just is not enough space. Another major problem is the amount of food needed, not to mention its sheer variety. Koalas only eat the leaves of gum trees. Most catepillars feed on the leaves of a single species of plant. Many carnivores tend to only prey on a single species of animal - the lynx eats snowshoe hares almost exclusively.

Noah had to solve all these problems and on a ship, no less. It is quite a quaint story, but most people tend to see it as just an entertaining myth. There is scientific evidence which suggests what was actually happening at the time. An ice sheet blocked mediterranean water from flowing into a eurasian valley about 6 thousand years ago. The ice melted and water began flooding the vally. This eventually formed what is now known as the black sea. At the height of the flood, it is estimated the water moved inland about 100 feet a day. People living around the original lake had to keep constantly moving for several weeks or risk drowning.

No. A wooden vessel that size would have required so much internal bracing that more than half the available space inside would have been taken up with supports to stop the thing falling apart on the slightest ripple. Take a look inside any wooden ship to see how little available room there is.

Much of the space would have been taken up with food and water for the animals and Noah's family and fuel for the cooking fires.

Bythe way, I would love to know which of Noah's family had gonorrhoea. It is a purely human disease with no animal carriers and is transmitted by sexual contact. If it survived the Ark, someone on board had to have it. Unless, of course, it evolved later...

No that story is fake just lik the story of god jesus and satan. Crazy people made up religion to keep the general public under control by putting rules and regulations in place so that people fear that they will pay for their so called sins in the after life. Do you really beleive god made everything? There is scientific proof that the earth was formed 4.4 billion years ago! Animals roamed the earth hundred of millions of years before humans did. If god created everything then why didn`t humans show up then since god takes the form of a human? Relgion sucks *** and those who beleive in it are morons!

There's a truly wonderful issue of the NCSE's newsletter that explores the entire Noah's Ark issue in great detail. It's great reading!

Yes! God had the plans for Noah's Ark to fit two of every animal on Earth on it.

Noah's ark is a myth, just like the Greek myth of Prometheus stealing fire from the gods.

Furthermore, rate at which rain would have fall to cover the top of the tallest mountain (Everest) in only 40 days would sink ANY non-submersible ship.

No, That's just an old story. Many old stories from jewish and other religions got collected and put into books like the bible. Many people think that this makes them all "holy" for some reason.

No.
This is why creationists have to hypothesize some kind of classification of animals called a "kind". so instead of all different kinds of bears or cats, there's only one "kind" of bear and one "kind" of cat.
But then after the flood, supposedly all the different kinds of animals developed from their respective kinds.
Hmmmm...that sounds like evolution!!!!!!
Not to mention all the extinct animals like dinosaurs, etc.

If the Bible said it was, it was. Might have been a bit cramped, though. I wonder if the larger species had gone extinct by then... (Dinosaurs, etc.)
