I need some help on an online stalker, someone that knows my personal info and uses it in public on a site, and also slanders my name and sends me e-mails and msgs as often as possible. Threats and slander, harassment and blackmail to share my info with whomever in public if I don't talk to him. I don't want to talk to him or have anything to do with him. How do I fix this, how can I contact his ISP?

The issues I have stem on IMVU, the chat service. My screen name is FumblingTowardsXTC. It's a fun place to play and have a good time, but IMVU won't do anything but delete some of the accounts he has created. I have sent e-mails to the chief of police in his area, but I am unsure as to how I can get this taken care of because the police dept. in my area does not have a cyber crime unit. They do not take this seriously. He knows my address, phone numbers and plenty more info on me. He not only slanders my name, but ppl I know in RL. I don't know what to do, no threats to expose him to the police SCARE him at all. He just gets worse. He's apparently been in jail twice for this same reason (only in person--not on the net). Thanks.

Easy. Save all your proof. Print it up. Take it to the police. They'll handle it from there. The person in question is breaking the law.

Your local law enforcement agency should have a cyber-crime task force that would be willing to help you with your stalker. As far as contacting his Internet service provider, you should contact your own ISP and explain the situation...they should be able to look in to their records and find out your stalker's on line name and service provider. From there you can contact his on line provider and report your problem. Good luck.
