What is a chindminder? Since I don't have any idea what that is, I would have to say no.

I don't have children but if I did I would be very cautious regardless of the gender. I hate to say it I know I am wrong but I would be more wary with a male childminder and would probably have to decline.
As for why I don't have a good reason. But I would not take a chance with my kid just to be politically correct

Depends on how well I know the guy, his past experiences with children, his feedback from other parents, etc. Example - if he was a new guy in town and this was his first time babysitting I'd say HELL NO but if he was my cousin or brother and someone said he was a great child minder I'd say HELL YEAH

Yep, with checkable references and police check.I'm in the caring field. There are alot of good male childminders out there but many of them are scared to be put in that position due to false abuse accusations!!!!.....and I can't blame them for being paranoid these days can you???

no cos women always know what to do with a child cos almost all of women have had one themselves.
but men dont.
almost all of men have a kid with a woman, then leave them to deal with the kids and go down the pub.
btw before you ask my dad doesn't do any of the above, ive just learnt from my cousins dad and what he is like.

sure.

there's nothing wrong with a male.

often, it seems earier to trust a female, but there's nothing wrong with a male as long as he, like many females, loves children and has no problem with babysitting :]

Wouldn't trust mine with a male or female childminder.....Your children are just too precious.

we had a male nanny when i was younger. it was just fine as with any babysitter, i would require references i could call and depending on age i would do a background check.

I have, and I had no problems with him. I'll admit I didn't like the idea at first, but he was great.
