I've seen her come a long ways over the years. In the early nineties I went to the movie premiere, Boomerang, and that was the first time that I ever heard of her, but I've followed her career since then. From everything she's been through with men, I don't think I'd ever want to marry again either, David Justice abused her. She use to dress down after getting famous and step into this hotel on skid row in L.A. where her father lived. She just wanted to get him in a better lifestyle and take care of him, but he wouldn't let her. I'm only trying to say that she has a great heart and has really kept it together after many traumatic incidents in her life. She proved to be one of the best actresses ever after monsters ball.

Halle Berry's ethnic pride is colliding with her awareness of historical anti-miscegenation laws. She may be applying the "one drop rule" as her standard to demonstrate affiliation with one part of her heritage. "The one-drop rule is a historical colloquial term in the United States for the social classification as black of individuals with any African ancestry; it is an example of hypodescent, the automatic assignment of children of a mixed union between different socioeconomic or ethnic groups to the group with the lower status. The one-drop rule was put into law in the twentieth century, for instance in Virginia under the Racial Integrity Act of 1924 (following the passage of similar laws in numerous other states). Despite the strictures of slavery, in the antebellum years free people could have up to one-eighth to one-quarter African ancestry (depending on the state) and be considered legally white. Community acceptance, carrying out community responsibilities, and appearance were often the most important factors if a person's racial status were questioned."
